Hi! I'm Christina!

Hi, I’m Christina — welcome to The Homesteading Wife. I’m a 28-year-old wife, mom, and modern homesteader living with my husband Josh and our 9-year-old son Ethan on a two-acre property in Homestead, Florida.

Our little slice of Florida sunshine is filled with life: chickens scratching in the yard, goats grazing in the pasture, a greenhouse full of seedlings, rows of vegetable gardens, and a handful of orange trees that sweeten the air every spring. It’s not always perfect, but it’s always real — and every day brings new lessons in patience, hard work, and gratitude.

Homesteading for us started as a dream of slowing down and raising Ethan in a way that kept him connected to the land, the seasons, and the value of simple living. Over time, it’s become our way of life. Josh and I spend our days tending gardens, building projects, and caring for the animals, while Ethan joins in with curiosity (and plenty of questions). Whether it’s collecting eggs, hauling in baskets of veggies, or sneaking fresh oranges off the tree, he’s growing up with his hands in the dirt and his heart tied to home.

On this blog, I share our family’s journey — the wins, the mistakes, and everything in between. You’ll find gardening tips that work in the Florida heat, stories from our greenhouse, recipes straight from the garden, and DIY projects that keep our homestead running. My hope is to encourage you wherever you are: whether you’re dreaming of a full homestead, starting a backyard garden, or just looking for small ways to live more simply.

Thanks for stopping by and being part of our journey. From our little homestead in Homestead, FL — welcome to the family.
